7-Eleven Renews As Platinum Sponsor
Local franchise owners and 7-Eleven partner to donate More than $7K to NWLL through Project A-GameUpdatedSunday July 16, 2017 byAdmin.
Despite sweltering temperatures, more than 100 players and parents from the Northwest Little League community were on hand at Friendship Rec Center Wednesday evening as several DC area 7-Eleven store owners presented the league a check for $7,533 and provided sandwiches, beverages, and dessert samples from their stores.
Upon receiving the check, NWLL Board President Ted Koopersmith thanked 7-Eleven’s Field Consultant Arslan Amjad and NWLL sponsor lead Maria Barry for their help coordinating the donation. “7-Eleven has been one of Northwest Little League’s most generous supporters with combined donations of more than $25,000 in the past two years. We’ve used these funds to continue improving our fields, equipment, and skills development programs while keeping registration fees affordable. We are also thrilled to see 7-Eleven expand their support of Little League baseball in the District of Columbia with a substantial donation to Mamie Johnson Little League in Ward 7.”
"We are honored to have the opportunity to support this Little League program,” said Amjad. “It is our second time participating in community outreach program in the Northwest neighborhoods, and we look forward to expanding our efforts throughout D.C. to support initiatives that help youth build a strong foundation for their future."
7-Eleven will remain a platinum sponsor for NWLL through Spring 2018.
